Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday described Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as a source of inspiration and said that only by education we can do something for the country and society. The Chief Minister was addressing a program organized in Lucknow to provide scholarships to students under the Post-10th and Purva-10th Scholarship Programme. Under the Post-10th and Pre-10th Scholarship Programme, an amount of Rs 297.95 crore was transferred to 10,28,205 students. At the function, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that till the year 2016-17, only 46 lakh students in the state were availing the benefit of scholarship, today this number has increased to 62 lakh. Yogi said that the purpose of scholarship is to encourage students so that they can contribute meaningfully to the development of society and nation with their energy.
Don’t play with the future of students
He said that today scholarship worth Rs 297.95 crore was distributed to 10,28,205 students of 10th and 10th class in Lucknow. The Chief Minister said that it is our resolve that we will not let the future of any youth, student, especially those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Tribes and other backward classes, be played with. He heartily congratulated all the students and their parents for this gift received before Diwali and extended best wishes for their bright future. Yogi said, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji used to say again and again – Only by studying and writing can we lead a self-reliant life and do something for our country and society.
Students benefit from ‘Abhyudaya Coaching’
Recalling the challenges of Baba Saheb’s study days, Chief Minister Yogi said that today there is no shortage of money, the government has started many programs for the convenience of the students. Said that today, through ‘Abhyudaya Coaching’, students are being prepared for competitions in every district. The Chief Minister said that the country and the state have benefited from the schemes run in the last 11 years under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yogi said that 25 crore people of the country have got the opportunity to live a normal life by overcoming the poverty line and six crore people of Uttar Pradesh have been lifted above the poverty line. Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun also addressed the program. Praising the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he enumerated a series of achievements of the department.
