Sunil Narine: West Indies’ legendary bowler Sunil Narine has set a record in the field of T-20. By taking 600 wickets in T-20 format, he established himself in the category of bowlers who have taken more than 600 wickets.
Sunil Narine: Before the start of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) veteran bowler Sunil Narine created history. This legendary West Indies spinner reached the third position in the list of bowlers by taking 600 wickets in T-20 cricket and registered his name in the record book. He achieved this special status while playing for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders against Sharjah Warriors in the ILT20 played on Wednesday. Now he has entered the exclusive club of West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo and Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan.
Honored with jersey number 600
After the end of the match played between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Sharjah Warriors, Sunil Narine was presented with a special jersey number 600 to commemorate his achievement. It is an honor for him to get this jersey. 37 year old Narine achieved this feat by taking the wicket of Tom Abel. With this wicket, Narine proved that he is not just a spinner but one of the most effective bowlers in T20 history. Before Narine, such a feat has been achieved by Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan and West Indies’ fast bowler Dwayne Bravo.
Naren confirmed his place at third place
Whereas, Rashid Khan has scored 681 and Dwayne Bravo has scored 631 in T-20. After this Sunil Narine has registered his name. Apart from this, South Africa’s legendary bowler Tahir Hussain is dominating at fourth position with 570 wickets. Let us tell you that Sunil Narine has been an integral part of the Knight Riders franchise for many years. While playing with Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), Los Angeles Knight Riders (MLC) and now Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20), he has helped the team win in many matches. Knight Riders issued a press release saying that this achievement is a proud moment for Narine. He also set a record for lasting the longest in the history of T-20.
