Who is Shreyasi Singh: Today once again Nitish government has been formed in Bihar. Nitish Kumar took oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time today at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Along with Nitish Kumar, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha also took oath as Deputy CM. Altogether 26 MLAs have taken oath as ministers with the Nitish government, which also includes many new faces. Shreyasi has won from Jamui on BJP ticket. He defeated RJD candidate Mohammad Shamshad Alam by 54498 votes. Shreyasi has become MLA for the second time and has now assumed the post of minister for the first time. Shreyasi has studied MBA. He has an old relationship with politics. She is the younger daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh. His ancestral village is Naya village of Jamui district. Apart from politics, Shreyasi Singh also has her own identity. Shreyasi Singh is not only active in politics but is also an athlete. He is also a reputed shooter. He had won the gold medal in shooting for India in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Shreyasi started her political journey in the year 2020. He contested from Jamui seat on BJP ticket and defeated Vijay Prakash Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal by a huge margin of 41,049 votes. In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, he again won the Jamui seat, this time securing 123,868 votes and defeating his nearest rival, RJD’s Mohammad Shamshad Alam, by a margin of about 54,498 votes. This victory shows that his popularity and vote bank are very strong.

Along with Shreyasi Singh, three women have got ministerial posts in Nitish government. Leshi Singh has become MLA by winning from Dhamdaha seat for the sixth time. Leshi Singh was made the Food and Conservation Minister in the previous government also. At present his ministry has not been decided. Apart from this, Rama Nishad has also been made a minister in the Nitish government. Rama Nishad is the wife of former BJP MP from Muzaffarpur Ajay Nishad.
