Trump Mamdani Meeting: US President Donald Trump has said that New York City’s newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani will meet him at the White House on Friday.

Trump Mamdani Meeting: US President Donald Trump and his political enemy Zohran Mamdani are going to talk face to face for the first time. Newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani will meet Trump at the White House on Friday. Trump has been critical of Mamdani’s policies and warned on the eve of the November 4 election that a Mamdani victory would be an “economic and social disaster” for New York City.
Trump gave information on social media
On a Truth Social post, US President Donald Trump said, “Zohran “Kwame” Mamdani, the Communist Mayor of New York City, has asked for a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will take place in the Oval Office on Friday, November 21. Further details to follow!”

Mamdani had challenged Trump
After becoming New York Mayor, Mamdani challenged Trump in his victory speech. He had said, ‘New York will show the entire country how to defeat Trump. Since assuming office in January, he has been talking about making the city ‘Trump-proof’ i.e. saving the city from the harmful decisions of the Trump government. Mamdani has repeatedly said, ‘If the President also wants to take any step in the interest of the people of New York, then I am ready.’ It will be very interesting for Trump and Mamdani to meet each other after the heated debate.
Trump had described Mamdani’s victory speech as a very angry speech and said that he has had a bad start and if he does not respect Washington then he has no chance of success. When asked if he would contact him, Trump said that Mamdani should reach out to him. I think they should get in touch. I am here. We will see what happens. But I think it would be more appropriate for them to reach out to us.
Trump’s counterattack
Trump said he was “very upset, because I want to see the new mayor do well, because I love New York. I really love New York.” Trump had said that communism has not worked for thousands of years. “Communism or the concept of communism has not worked. I doubt it will work this time.” Mamdani has become the mayor of New York City and the first South Asian Muslim to sit at the helm of America’s largest city. He had been the frontrunner in the NYC mayoral election for several months and defeated Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
