Mumbai Terror Attacks: BJP has targeted the Congress citing a statement by P Chidambaram. He alleged that the UPA government was waiting for the US instructions during the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
Mumbai Terror Attacks : Former Union Ministers P Chidambaram and Manish Tiwari (Manish Tiwari), citing the recent statement, BJP alleged that the Congress -led UPA government did not take any action against Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, as it bowed to the US pressure. At a press conference at the BJP headquarters, the party’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia asked the top leadership of the Congress to clarify why the Manmohan Singh government had allowed foreign intervention in India’s internal affairs. He has demanded that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi give clarification on Chidambaram’s statement in an interview on a news channel.
Foreign policy was weak: BJP
Gaurav Bhatia said that in a recent interview, Chidambaram had said that the whole world is broken on New Delhi, so that any action can be taken against Pakistan in response to the terrorist attack. The senior Congress leader also said that the then US Secretary of State Kondolija Rice had asked him and the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to react. The BJP spokesperson said that when India was waiting for a strong response after 26/11 during the Congress rule, Sonia Gandhi was waiting for the instructions from Washington. He said that it shows that the UPA was a foreign policy of the compromised and weak Congress -led UPA government.
Bhatia told Rahul an immature child
The BJP spokesperson, citing various media reports, said that Congress MP Manish Tiwari, who was the Union Minister in the previous UPA government, also described the revelations made by Chidambaram as a matter of serious concern. Bhatia asked where is Rahul Gandhi? Are they not accountable to the people of the country? He asked what is the priority of Rahul Gandhi? Is their priority only to roam from one country to another or to make a statement against India abroad. At the same time, while targeting Gandhi’s recent remarks in Colombia, Gaurav Bhatia alleged that the Congress leader who was partying till 4 am after the Mumbai terror attack goes abroad that India should not lead the world. He further asked Rahul that hey, when you are unable to lead the Congress, will you defame India?
