Land of Snow: All countries have their own identity. There is one such country, which is called the world of ice. This country is famous all over the world for its long winters, snowy views and heavy snowfall. It remains covered with snow almost throughout the year and the white mountains enhance its beauty. Because of its climate and geography, it is known as the ‘World of Snow’. We are talking about Tibet. The snowy hills, freezing temperatures and peace here are its hallmarks. Snow is an essential part of Tibet’s culture, history and geography.

Tibet is situated at an altitude of 14,000 feet.
Tibet is located on the world’s highest plateau, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, including the Himalayas. The altitude of Tibet is more than 4,000 meters (14,000 feet). Due to its altitude the temperature remains low and beautiful snowy views remain. This region has long winters, strong winds, low oxygen and very little humidity. Due to the altitude, the temperature remains low even in summer. The thin air at high altitude is unable to stop the heat, due to which the temperature falls rapidly. This area receives sunlight, but the heat dissipates just as quickly, due to which the environment remains cold and snowy.
People wear clothes made of yak fur
Tibet is one of the coldest inhabited places on earth. Popular areas near Lhasa, Shigatse, Mount Kailash and Mount Everest make up the snowy identity of Tibet. Tourists often visit these places to enjoy the views of glaciers, icy lakes and high places. Here winters can last for six months, while summers are short and cool. The traditional clothes here are designed for snow and cold. People wear layers of woolen clothing, yak fur coats, and high boots to survive the snowy weather. The clothes of Tibet are called Chuba. They have long sleeves, loose waist and heavy collar-cuffs.

Tibet is in China
Let us tell you, Tibet is not an independent country. It is officially governed as a province-level entity of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), known as the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Its current legal status is that of a province of China, but the question of Tibet’s independence is a matter of great international and historical controversy, which arises frequently.
