MP Cough Syrup News: In Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, 14 children have died due to drinking cold cuff syrup. Since then, the state government is appearing in alert mode. The government has banned all the products of company Srisan Pharmaceuticals including Coldrif Cuff Syrup and also arrested Dr. Praveen Soni, who wrote cuff syrup, Governor Chowk of Kotwali police station area. Along with this, a case has also been registered against the Pharma Company of Tamil Nadu, which produces syrup.

Case filed on BMO complaint

Please tell that this action has been recorded after the complaint of Parasia BMO Dr. Ankit Sahal. The complaint was clearly alleged that the quality of ‘Coldrif’ syrup, built by the company concerned, was suspicious, which had a serious and fatal impact on the health of the children.

Why children died

The Madhya Pradesh government has filed a complaint against Srisan Pharmaceuticals. Earlier, the government had banned selling cold cuff syrup across the state. 48.6 percent diyethylene glycol has been found in this syrup, which should be only 0.1 percent.

What the Chief Minister said about the accused

On this matter, CM Mohan Yadav said that the sale of Coldrif Syrup has been banned all over Madhya Pradesh. The sale of other products of the syrup making company is also being banned. He posted on social media X and wrote that the syrup factory is located in Kanchipuram. The state government had requested the Tamil Nadu government to conduct an inquiry. Strict action was taken immediately after receiving the investigation report. The CM assured that the culprits will not be spared at any cost and after the tragic death of the children, continuous action will continue at the local and state level.

Case registered under these sections

In view of the seriousness of the case, Section 279 (Mixing of medicines / Adulteration of Drugs) of the Code of India (BNS),
Section 105 of the Code of India (BNS) (criminal human slaughter that does not come under the category of murder),
Section 27 (A) of Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940
A case has been registered under the provision of punishment up to life imprisonment.

Warning on sale

However, the administration has also issued strict warnings to all medical stores that if this suspected syrup is found for ‘Coldrif’ sale at any store, the license of that store will be canceled immediately and then legal action will be initiated on it.
