political attack: Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has the political will to take action against terrorism, whereas the previous UPA government was confused about dealing with anti-social elements. Deora told PTI Videos that the country is very safe under the Modi government. Deora was answering the questions of journalists in Mumbai. A day earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi had attacked Congress. Modi had said that Congress should tell the country who stopped India from taking military action after the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, who were linked to Pakistan. Deora said that the biggest difference between the previous UPA government and the Modi government is that there is political will in the government under the leadership of Modi ji. Be it Pakistan or any internal domestic terrorist organisation, if they try to spread terrorism anywhere from Kashmir to Mumbai, this government has the political will to take action.
Congress was incapable of dealing with terrorist organizations
The former Congress leader, who was a minister in the previous UPA government, said that we are very safe and I would like to give full credit for this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under his leadership our anti-terrorism capabilities have been strengthened. Modi on Wednesday referred to the comments of former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, who himself was in favor of military action against Pakistan, but Chidambaram pointed out that the UPA government had taken diplomatic action under pressure from world powers, including the US, to avoid starting a war. The Prime Minister did not take Chidambaram’s name during his address. On Congress leader Chidambaram’s comments, Deora said that in the past there was confusion in dealing with anti-social elements, terrorist organizations, domestic or foreign, or left-wing extremists. He said that there was confusion within the then UPA government, between the government and the ruling party. Today that is no longer an illusion.
Some UPA ministers accused of delaying the project
Said that Prime Minister Modi’s vision for ensuring national security is very clear. Any person, any organization who tries to destabilize India and indulge in violence will be dealt with sternly. Deora said that therefore we can say with full confidence that there has not been a single terrorist attack in a city like Mumbai in the last 12 or 13 years. He claimed that the construction of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, inaugurated on Wednesday, was delayed by 10 years because then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wanted the airport to get environmental clearance, but some ministers deliberately delayed the project and tried to destabilize and weaken India. Today under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Deora said that under the leadership of Modi there is clarity regarding economic policy and national security.
