Jan Suraj Party: Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore on Saturday claimed that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will lose his Raghopur assembly seat in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Said that just like Rahul Gandhi of Congress had to face a humiliating defeat in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh six years ago. Kishor spoke to journalists in Patna before launching his party’s campaign from Raghopur, about 50 km away. He himself did not open his cards to the possibility of contesting the elections. Kishore alleged that I am going to Raghopur to take feedback from the people of the constituency, who want to end the dominance of one family. Before Tejashwi Yadav became MLA for the second time, his father Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi had represented that seat. Yet it is crying out for basic facilities. He said that the meeting of the Central Election Committee of Jan Suraj Party is going to be held on Sunday.

Discussion of Tejashwi contesting on two seats

Kishore said that this decision has to be taken by the party. Kishor smiled when journalists told that there are rumors going around that Tejashwi Yadav may contest from more than one seat in the upcoming elections. Kishore said that at present, there is only speculation that Jan Suraj Party will field a strong candidate in Raghopur and Tejashwi Yadav is very scared. Let him contest elections from two seats. His fate in Raghopur will be similar to that of Rahul Gandhi in 2019, when the Congress leader had contested from two seats, but lost his stronghold of Amethi. It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi, currently the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, was successful in winning the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in 2019. In last year’s Lok Sabha elections, he again contested from two seats, Wayanad and Rae Bareli, from which his mother Sonia Gandhi has represented several times. After winning both the seats, Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat, where her sister Priyanka Vadra was elected in the by-election. Congress also snatched back the Amethi seat, where lesser-known candidate Kishori Lal Sharma defeated former Union minister and BJP MP Smriti Irani. Kishor was also asked whether Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh might have announced his decision of not contesting the assembly elections out of fear, whereas just a day before, Pawan Singh’s estranged wife Jyoti had met the founder of Jan Suraj Party.

Told Pawan Singh as his friend

He replied that Pawan Singh is not the enemy. He is my personal friend and it doesn’t matter to me that he is in BJP. When his wife came to share her insecurities with me, I reassured her like a brother. Kishore said that tainted leaders like Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Minister Ashok Chaudhary are living in fear of Jan Suraj. Ashok Chaudhary has claimed that he will not file a defamation case against me, but will fight in the public court. Let him tell from which assembly seat he is going to contest. We are ready. He also made light of the dissatisfaction expressed by many candidates after the party released the first list of 51 candidates a few days ago. Said it is natural. People have established Jan Suraj Party with their blood and sweat. When there are only 243 seats in the Assembly, it is never possible to accommodate them all, but we are a democratic party which does not keep its doors closed. Everything will be sorted out.
