Karnataka News : Priyank Kharge, son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and minister in the Karnataka government, had written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanding a ban on setting up Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) branch in schools and colleges. In this series, the Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to make rules to stop the activities of RSS from taking out marches on the streets or organizing programs at government places. After the cabinet meeting, the minister told reporters that the rules we want to make are related to public places, government schools, colleges, government campuses and aided institutions.
Three departments will make rules together
The Cabinet decided that a new rule will be prepared by bringing together the previous orders issued by the Home Department, Law Department and Education Department. In the next two-three days the new rule will be implemented within the ambit of the law and the Constitution. We cannot control any organization, but from now on you cannot do whatever you want in public places or on the streets. Whatever you have to do, you will have to do it only after taking permission from the government. Priyank Kharge said that it depends on the discretion of the government whether it gives permission to carry out such activities or not. Mentioning that there are certain criteria for granting permission.
Can’t control the organization
The minister said that RSS cannot be controlled, but from now on you cannot do as per your wish in public places or on the roads. He said that you cannot walk on the road waving sticks or take out Panth Sanchalan (march) just by giving information to the authorities. All these things will be part of the rules we implement. Let us tell you that in a letter written to the Chief Minister, Priyank Kharge accused him of brainwashing the youth and promoting ideology against the Constitution. At the same time, the BJP MLA retorted that he is not able to tolerate the Sangh centenary celebrations and that is why he is making such comments. He said that the work of the Sangh is spreading from village to global level.
