The two were planning to carry out a terror attack during Diwali in a crowded area of ​​the national capital, which included a mall and a public park in South Delhi. A senior police officer said that the name of both the arrested suspects is Adnan. One of them is a resident of Sadiq Nagar, Delhi, while the other is from Bhopal. Police have recovered objectionable material from them. The recovered items also included a video, in which both the suspects are seen swearing allegiance to ISIS. Apart from this, photographs have also been found of the places where they were planning to carry out blasts in Delhi.

Interrogation of suspects continues

The officer said that with these arrests a possible terrorist attack in Delhi has been averted. Police are now interrogating both the suspects so that more information can be gathered about their plans and terrorist network. This arrest is a major success for the security agencies. Addressing a press conference, Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha said that a watch has also been recovered from the accused, which they were using to make timers for IEDs. Apart from this, photographs of the places from where they were going to purchase the materials required for making IED have also been recovered.

Caught from Delhi and Bhopal

The Additional Police Commissioner said that the accused had conducted recce of the places in Delhi where they were planning attacks, which included a mall and a public park in South Delhi. First, one terrorist was arrested from Sadiq Nagar on October 16 and later another from Bhopal. Bhopal resident Adnan was also arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police after he threatened an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) official on social media for surveying the Gyanvapi Mosque. The officer said preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were associated with ISIS and were planning a major terror attack in Delhi. Electronic devices and objectionable materials have been seized from them. Police said that the suspects are being interrogated to find out their network and their plans.
