Efforts to include dead voters in the list: Suvendu Adhikari

West Bengal SIR: There is a tussle between the ruling party and the opposition in West Bengal regarding SIR. Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari said that TMC is busy including dead voters in the list.

West Bengal SIR : Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is being done in 12 states and union territories of the country including West Bengal and the opposition is continuously protesting. Meanwhile, Ganga is flowing slightly in reverse in West Bengal. There, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged on Tuesday that the administration is trying to keep the names of dead voters in the voter list during the ongoing SIR in West Bengal. Citing a leaked WhatsApp message of the BDO of Kultali, he said that dead voters are being included in the list. On this, the ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has called these allegations baseless.

pressure being put on officials

Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari posted a screenshot of the alleged chat on social media and alleged that booth-level officials in Kultali, Joynagar and surrounding areas of South 24 Parganas district were being pressurized to include dead voters in the list. He claimed that the administrative machinery is being blatantly misused to influence the SIR process. Besides, the guidelines issued by the Election Commission to the officials are being openly violated. He asked that in many places BDO is being used for such irregularities. Can the administration break ECI rules and issue such instructions? He has appealed to the commission to investigate this incident and take action.

BJP has nothing to do

Let us tell you that BJP has been accusing Trinamool Congress for a long time that it is continuously opposing SIR for allegedly creating fake voters, dead voters and voters who have gone to other countries to save its vote bank. Suvendu Adhikari met Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Aggarwal and made some demands regarding SIR. During the meeting, he also alleged unauthorized access by ruling TMC’s poll consultant I-PAC. He said how does I-PAC get data entry system access? On the other hand, TMC has described all the allegations as politically motivated. A senior party leader said that TMC rejects these baseless claims. Also, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari is hatching a conspiracy because at this time BJP has nothing left to give. He creates such stories just to remain in the headlines.
