Fadnavis government: As the Fadnavis government in Maharashtra completed one year on Friday, the opposition Congress demanded presenting a “white paper” in the upcoming winter session of the state legislature. Congress said that details of the government’s achievements in the last 12 months should be given through a white paper. Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Vijay Wadettiwar said that one year of the BJP-led grand alliance government has disappointed the people of Maharashtra. In Nagpur, the former minister claimed that there has been an increase in farmer suicides in the last one year. Agricultural produce is not getting guaranteed prices. While farmers are struggling to get seeds or fertilizers on time. Wadettiwar said that the government is busy patting itself on the back. They sit in five star hotels and tell about their achievements, but people have got nothing but disappointment.
Allegations of nexus between builders and ministers
He demanded that the state government present a “white paper” detailing its pre-poll promises, decisions and implementation in the winter session of the legislature starting from December 8 in Nagpur. It is noteworthy that “White Paper” is a government report giving information or proposal on an issue of public interest. The Congress legislature party leader said the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP, has failed on several fronts, including curbing crimes against women and protecting the health of children. He also alleged nexus between builders and ministers in the state. He said that floods in Marathwada (Central Maharashtra) have devastated the farmers. The number of malnourished children has increased. The condition of roads across the state has deteriorated. Crimes against women are increasing. Builders and ministers are grabbing land worth crores. Favorite industrialists are benefiting while common people are struggling.
Will raise the issue in the assembly
The Congress leader alleged that illegal coal mining was taking place in Chandrapur district, from where he is the MLA. He claimed that illegal mining is taking place in the Baranj coal mine of Chandrapur in complete violation of the rules. Coal worth lakhs of rupees is being sold openly in the market. The former state minister said that the conditions imposed by the Environment Department while granting approval for coal mining in the area in 2023 have been violated and the rehabilitation of the project affected families is still pending. He said that everyone from the Environment Minister to the Forest Department officials are involved in irregularities. He said that this matter will be raised in the Assembly next week. Criticizing the government for not appointing an opposition leader in either House, Wadettiwar asserted that the ruling coalition has no respect for either democracy or the Constitution.
