Officials said on Friday that the police raided a pharmaceutical factory running without a license in Bathu area of ​​Una district of Himachal Pradesh. During this period, medicines worth Rs 6 lakh made in the factory were seized. Una police along with the pharmaceutical department raided the pharmaceutical factory on Thursday night. This factory, which was closed 14 years ago, was manufacturing medicines illegally. On receiving the information, a team led by Special Investigation Branch in-charge Sunil Kumar Namshan raided the factory and recovered illegally manufactured medicines from the premises. In-charge Sunil Kumar said that the license of the factory was canceled in 2011 after serious deficiencies were found. Due to which this factory was closed. Despite this, the factory was started secretly without any valid permission. Production continued in the factory.

Violation of rules will not be tolerated: Superintendent of Police

Drug Inspector Pankaj Gautam said that the medicines seized were for general use. He further informed that action is being taken against the factory owner under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Investigation is underway to find out from where the medicines were supplied and who else is involved. Una Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav said that violation of rules will not be tolerated and action will continue. The Drug Department will now check the quality, validity and documentation of the seized goods. After Bathu, the joint team also suddenly inspected another pharmaceutical factory located on Karmapur-Laldi Road. The factory was found closed for a long time and no activity was seen in the premises. About 50 pharmaceutical industries are closed in the state, but some of them are producing medicines illegally.

Factory operator arrested in Baddi

Recently, a case has come to light in Baddi, where a closed company was manufacturing medicines illegally in the name of a factory in Assam. Investigation revealed that the original pharmaceutical company has closed down and no longer produces the medicine. The operator of the company has been sent to judicial custody, while the supplier is still absconding. Following this incident, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of the Drug Control Administration (DCA) conducted extensive raids across the state on Wednesday and 20 industries were simultaneously raided in Sirmaur, Una, Kangra and Solan districts. Irregularities were found at four locations and despite closure, production activities were continuing. State drug controller Manish Kapoor said the administration adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards violations. He warned that strict action would be taken against any company violating the orders.
