America Terror Alert: US intelligence agency FBI revealed on Monday that they have arrested four members of an extremist anti-government group, who were plotting to terrorize America before the New Year. He said that a plot to bomb several places in Southern California on New Year’s Eve was foiled. The four suspects were arrested Friday in the Mojave Desert east of Los Angeles while they were rehearsing their plan, Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Esselly said during a press conference.

Authorities showed reporters surveillance aerial footage of the suspects carrying a large black object to a table in the desert. Authorities said they managed to arrest the suspects before they could make a functional explosive device. That they are all from the Los Angeles area. Authorities did not specify a motive, but said they were members of a branch of a pro-Palestinian group called the Turtle Island Liberation Front. According to the criminal complaint, the group works to “rise up the working class and fight against capitalism.”
‘Operation Midnight Sun’ failed
According to authorities and the criminal complaint, the plan involved planting backpacks filled with complex pipe bombs that were set to detonate simultaneously at five locations at midnight on New Year’s Eve. According to the investigation, there was a plot to detonate the bomb on New Year’s Eve, adding that “fireworks would be going off at this time, so the chances of the explosions being noticed would be less.” An eight-page handwritten terror plan titled “Operation Midnight Sun” has also surfaced, in which it was said that more locations could be added. According to the complaint, there was a conspiracy to explode bombs on the property of two different companies, which were involved in activities affecting interstate and foreign trade.
Bomb making material seen in evidence
According to the criminal complaint, photos included in court documents show a desert campsite with bomb-making materials scattered on tables. The complaint states that the suspects “all brought bomb-making components to the campsite, which included PVC pipes of various sizes, suspected potassium nitrate, charcoal, charcoal powder, sulfur powder and material used as a fuse.” Officials said the plan included instructions to make a bomb and not to leave behind any evidence that could reach the group. The suspects had recently purchased precursor chemicals and other items.
