Attack on RSS: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday strongly attacked RSS and Sangh Parivar. He urged people to avoid the company of Sanatanis and beware of RSS and Sangh Parivar. He said that these people have opposed BR Ambedkar and the Constitution made by him. Siddaramaiah was addressing the function after inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of Mysore University and inaugurating the new Gyan Darshan Bhavan. Siddaramaiah said that keep your company right. Associate with those who stand for society, not with those who oppose social change or with conservatives. Referring to the recent incident of shoe being thrown at Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, the Chief Minister said that a Sanatani throwing a shoe at the Chief Justice shows that Sanatan and conservative elements are still present in the society. This act should be condemned not only by Dalits but by everyone. Only then can we say that the society is moving forward on the path of change.

Sangh had opposed Ambedkar

Siddaramaiah also alleged that the RSS and the Sangh Parivar had opposed Ambedkar’s Constitution and were still doing so. He urged people to remain alert. Describing Ambedkar as a visionary who used knowledge for social change, he said that Ambedkar acquired knowledge to understand the society and used it throughout his life to change the society. Accusing BJP and Sangh Parivar of spreading false propaganda in the name of Ambedkar, he said that they are spreading lies that Congress defeated Ambedkar in the elections. But the truth is what Ambedkar himself had written in his own handwriting. ‘Savarkar and Dange defeated me’. Such truths should be placed before the society so that the lies of the Sangh Parivar can be exposed. Speaking about Ambedkar School of Economics, Siddaramaiah said that I established it so that those who study Ambedkar can follow the path shown by him.

Education is not anyone’s ancestral property

Said that Ambedkar is unmatched. Another Ambedkar will never be born, but everyone should follow his ideals and follow his footsteps. Praising Ambedkar’s contribution towards the nation, the Chief Minister said that he studied and assimilated all the constitutions of the world and gave India the most suitable constitution for its society. He further said that he believes in the thoughts of Buddha, Basava (12th century social reformer) and Ambedkar. He said that therefore I hope that rationality and scientific thinking will increase. Don’t be a person who studies science but believes in superstitions. Siddaramaiah also lauded the inauguration of the Center for Ambedkar Studies of Mysore University, which has completed 25 years, and the ‘Vishwa Gyani Ambedkar Sabha Bhavan’, calling it a welcome step. He said that unequal opportunities have created inequality. Education is not anyone’s ancestral property. People need opportunity. Once given the opportunity, they can become scholars and intellectuals.
