Chittoor Bus Accident: Sad news has come out from Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. A bus carrying 35 passengers fell into a ditch in Chittoor. 9 passengers have died. Many people have been seriously injured. After being informed by a passerby, the police team reached the spot and started relief work. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The bodies have also been sent for post-mortem. The accident occurred near Chinturu-Maredumilli Ghat Road in Alluri Sitaram Raju district on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
CM Naidu expressed grief
Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the incident. Instructions have been given to take all necessary steps to provide help. The government will stand with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.

All the passengers had booked a private bus and were going to Annavaram after visiting Bhadrachalam. This accident happened after midnight on Ghat Road. Police suspect that the driver lost control at a sharp turn and hit the safety wall at the ninth milestone near Thulasipaka, causing the accident. Police are investigating to find out the real cause of the accident.
Death toll may increase
This accident happened in a hilly area where there is no mobile network, so it took some time for information to reach Mothugunta officials. However, as soon as the information was received, the police immediately reached the spot. The officials took the injured to Chintur Government Hospital. Nine bodies have been recovered so far. Officials say the death toll may increase.
