National Herald Case : In the National Herald case, the troubles of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi seem to be increasing. FIR has been registered against both the leaders. Meanwhile, Congress on Sunday alleged that the Modi-Shah duo is doing vendetta politics against the top leadership of the party. The main opposition party in the Lok Sabha also said that the National Herald case is completely fake and in the end justice will prevail. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the Modi-Shah duo has filed an FIR to harass and intimidate the top leaders of INC.
DP filed FIR on ED complaint
Jairam Ramesh said that people who are scared, they feel insecure and scared. This comment from his side has come when Delhi Police registered an FIR against Congress leaders and other accused in the National Herald case on the complaint of ED. The Enforcement Directorate is investigating money laundering related matters in this high profile case. In this case, Sonia-Rahul are accused of misusing their position for their own benefit. According to official sources, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police had filed a complaint against the Gandhi family and seven other people on October 3.
Delhi Police registered a case under several sections
Delhi Police has leveled charges in the FIR under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating). The FIR includes the names of Gandhi family, Congress leader Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda, companies like Dotex Merchandise Limited, Dotex promoter Sunil Bhandari, Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and some unknown people.
Let us tell you that these entities have also been named as accused in the ED charge sheet filed in a Delhi court in April. The court has not yet taken cognizance of this matter and the next hearing is to be held on December 16. Congress had earlier called this investigation a petty act of revenge and called ED a coalition partner of BJP. For the time being, it postponed its order to take cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case.
