Bihar Election Result: NDA is heading towards a massive victory in Bihar. Has taken an impressive lead in more than 180 out of 243 assembly seats in the state. Initial trends also indicate that the saffron party is on its way to register its biggest victory with an excellent strike rate. According to the trends available till noon on the Election Commission website, BJP is emerging as the largest party with a lead in more than 80 assembly seats out of 101 contested seats. This performance will further strengthen its position as the number one political force in the country. NDA’s seats in Bihar come after BJP’s consistently good performance in Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana.
Bumper jump in Janata Dal (U) seats
The strong support given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also given immense benefits to JD(U). JDU is on track to drastically improve its numbers since 2020, when it won only 43 seats, but is now leading in over 70. LJP (RV), headed by the Prime Minister’s self-proclaimed “Hanuman” and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, is leading on more than 20 seats. This is a fantastic performance. Considering the fact that it contested only 29 seats. The RJD, which prides itself on being the largest party despite being in the opposition, seems to be showing a disappointing performance with a lead in less than 40 seats compared to the 140 it had contested. Congress had contested elections on 61 seats. Congress, which fought the battle with allies on many seats, has kept its image intact with a lead in less than 10 seats in Bihar.
Samrat Chaudhary is moving ahead
If the trends translate into results, the BJP will outperform JD(U) for the second consecutive election. However, the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been insisting that Nitish Kumar is leading the NDA in Bihar. The BJP, which does not have a majority in the Lok Sabha, is dependent on allies like the JD(U) and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP to remain in power. Prominent BJP candidates leading on their seats include Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary (Tarapur) and Vijay Kumar Sinha (Lakhisarai). RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who is the India Bloc’s chief ministerial candidate, is trailing BJP rival Satish Kumar by a slim margin of about 100 votes. His elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav is at fourth position from Mahua.
