Trump's impeachment against New York Attorney General 'Letitia James' increases the concern of black women leaders, know the matter

America News: Supporters of Letitia James believe that some recent steps taken by Donald Trump have targeted black women leaders. And now they too are being targeted.

America News : The dispute between US President Donald Trump and New York Attorney General Letitia James continues and now a new case has come to light. The Trump administration has filed charges against Letelia on charges of bank fraud and giving false information in a home purchase case. Meanwhile, the New York Coalition of NAACP Branches had just begun its annual state convention when longtime member and state Attorney General Letitia James canceled her attendance. Letitia had described the allegations against her as baseless and a serious violation of our constitutional order.

American democracy must be improved first

NAACP New York State Conference President L. Joy Williams said that democracy has been built in America only through our collective efforts. We have to not only protest the bad things that are happening in democracy, but also move beyond that to building a better American democracy that we all deserve. Letitia James had earlier prosecuted the Trump Organization for business fraud, but now after the prosecution of James, a debate has arisen on whether the justice system was politicized at the behest of President Donald Trump. This can also be compared to Trump’s recent attempt to remove Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook from her post due to similar allegations.

The gap between the wealth of whites and blacks increased

At the same time, James’ supporters believe that some recent steps taken by Donald Trump have targeted black women leaders. Shavonne Arline-Bradley, president of the National Council of Negro Women, the country’s oldest black women’s civic organization, said that this is something that we have been struggling with from the beginning with this administration. He further said that these claims also have symbolic importance for black families, where property ownership has historically been restricted by the legal system through direct and implicit discrimination. Home ownership has become a disproportionate and sometimes the only means of wealth creation for Black Americans. A recent survey shows that the racial wealth gap between white and black individuals is increasing.
