CJI Br Gavai: A surprising incident has come to light in the Supreme Court. A lawyer here tried to kill by throwing a shoe at the Chief Justice of India Gawai during the hearing in a case.
BR GAVAI: On Monday, a lawyer created a huge uproar in front of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gawai in the Supreme Court. It is alleged that the lawyer tried to throw a shoe at CJI. But security personnel reached the spot and stopped him. However, the police have taken the lawyer into custody and meanwhile the CJI Gawai remained in his seat at the time of the incident. CJI said that these things do not matter to me. At the same time, senior advocate Indira Jaisingh said that there is an ideological attack on the secular institution and a casteist comment against the CJI.
In court, CJI asked lawyers to continue hearing
It is being told that the lawyer first went to the desk and then tried to throw the shoe, but the security personnel posted there intervened. After this, the security guard took the lawyer out of the court room and during this time it was heard to the lawyer that Sanatan would not bear insults. The name of the accused lawyer is being described as Rakesh Kishore and he was registered in the Supreme Court in 2011. However, he was not affected by the incident and he maintained his status quo in the court. With this, he told the lawyers that no one needs to be upset and he said that do not pay attention to it. Meanwhile, in view of the seriousness of the case, immediate action was taken and security has been increased in the Supreme Court premises.
Security personnel detained the lawyer
According to another lawyer, the lawyer who tried to attack the Chief Justice threw something towards CJI. That thing survived justice Vinod Chandran. After this, the Hamalwar lawyer apologized to Justice Chandran and said that my target was only CJI. A few seconds after that, the security personnel caught the lawyer and he took him out of the court room. After this incident, the organization of lawyers has condemned the incident. The Supreme Court Advocate-on Record (AOR) Association has demanded the Supreme Court to take automatic cognizance of the incident and contempt action against that lawyer.
