20 years of destruction: Congress aggressive on Nitish government

Bihar Election: Ramesh alleged that corruption is rampant in the NDA government, which is being run through remote control from Delhi and Nagpur outside Bihar.

Bihar Election: Before Bihar assembly elections, Congress is aggressive on Nitish government. Congress on Thursday issued a 42-page chargesheet against the Nitish Kumar government and alleged that 20 years of NDA rule has ruined the state. Congress said that Bihar assembly elections will have an impact at the national level. The title of this booklet is ‘Twenty Years of Destruction’. This booklet was released at Sadakat Ashram, Bihar Pradesh Congress Headquarters. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Singh Baghel were also present on this occasion. Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Ramesh alleged that corruption is rampant in the NDA government, which is being run through remote control from Delhi and Nagpur (RSS headquarters) outside Bihar.

Corruption and crime increased in Bihar

The Rajya Sabha MP alleged that this so-called double engine eats the cream of power. He claimed that in the last 20 years, Bihar has lagged behind in health, education, employment generation and all other parameters of development, while corruption and crime are on the rise. Ramesh quipped that we keep in mind that there have been brief intervals of ‘palti’ in 20 years. He was referring to JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who has formed an alliance with RJD-Congress twice in the last decade. Ramesh also alleged that the ruling BJP at the Center has been “opposed” to social justice and has played a role in the lawsuit challenging the caste survey in Bihar.

There was no discussion on seat distribution

Ramesh said that despite Nitish Kumar coming back to the NDA, the increase in quota for weaker sections, which was struck down by the Patna High Court, was not included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. When reservation was increased to 69 per cent, it was protected from judicial interference because the government led by then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, in which former Congress president Sitaram Kesari was the social welfare minister, had put the law in the Ninth Schedule. However, Congress leaders did not talk about the seat-sharing arrangement in the India Bloc, which includes the Left and some other small parties apart from the Congress and the RJD.

Health care collapse in the state

Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar, who was present at the press conference, said that we are in regular talks with our alliance partners. We will meet again today. We will make everything public in a few days. We will also bring our manifesto. Baghel described the NDA government in Bihar as “a double engine”, the pistons of which have responded. Gehlot questioned the effectiveness of the recently launched Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana and alleged that the Bihar government has failed to take effective steps to ensure a strong healthcare system, unlike the one run by them in Rajasthan.
