can’t stand statement
Meanwhile, a female activist said that we are distributing these packets to mothers and sisters so that they can ensure their safety. We would just say that we have to protect ourselves and use red chilli powder spray if necessary. The protesters said the Chief Minister’s alleged comment advising women not to go out late at night reflects the failure of his law and order system in the state. However, Mamata Banerjee has clarified that her comments have been deliberately distorted. Another woman said that in 2025 we cannot tolerate the fact that women should not go out late at night.
The victim had gone out to eat something with her friend.
During the BJP’s protest, an IT employee described the incident as worrying and if a woman Chief Minister is making such statements then how will we work at night? The woman said that my office hours are till 10:30, what should I do during that time? All I want to say is that the Chief Minister should make arrangements to work from home. A 23-year-old Odisha resident student of a private medical college in Durgapur in Paschim Bardhaman district was gang-raped by some people on Friday when the victim had gone out to eat with her friend. Describing the incident as shocking and emphasizing his government’s zero tolerance policy towards such crimes, the Chief Minister had said that women hostelers should follow the hostel rules. Also, one should not go out till late night because the police will not be able to guard outside every house.
