According to the Election Commission, the highest turnout was in Begusarai at 59.82 percent, while the lowest was in the capital Patna at 48.69 percent. 54.77% in Khagaria, 54.60% in Saran, 58.40% in Muzaffarpur, 58.87% in Gopalganj, 57.39% in Lakhisarai, 56.35% in Samastipur, 53.63% in Vaishali, 52.32% in Nalanda, 52.17% in Munger, 52.17% in Buxar. Voting was 51.69%, 50.07% in Bhojpur, 50.93% in Siwan, 49.37% in Sheikhpura, 55.96% in Madhepura, 55.22% in Saharsa and 51.75% in Darbhanga. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged in Purnia on Thursday that BJP will try with all its might to steal votes in the Bihar Assembly elections. It is the responsibility of the youth to take action against this. Addressing an election rally in Purnia, Rahul Gandhi claimed that BJP is winning elections everywhere by stealing votes. We have shown the whole world that BJP and the Election Commission have stolen the Haryana elections. I am sure they will try to steal votes in Bihar also.

Gandhi also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the rule of billionaires where the youth remain unemployed. Criticizing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha also accused him of turning the youth of the state into labourers. On the other hand, top officials of the Election Commission are keeping an eye on the Bihar elections through live feed. Top officials of the Election Commission are continuously monitoring the ongoing voting in Bihar through live feed available from more than 45,000 polling stations. For the first time, CCTV cameras have been installed at all the polling stations in the state. Officials said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners SS Sandhu and Vivek Joshi are present in the control room of the Election Commission located at Nirvachan Sadan here.

Voting is being held on 121 seats in the first phase on Thursday. A total of 1,314 candidates are in the fray in the first phase. The Election Commission has created 45,341 polling stations for the first phase where more than four lakh polling staff are deployed. Candidates have appointed 65,481 polling agents at polling stations to prevent irregularities. The second phase of voting will be held on November 11 and the results will be declared on November 14. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha alleged that his convoy was attacked on the day of voting in Lakhisarai. An Election Commission official said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has asked the Director General of Police to take immediate action. The Election Commission said in a statement that all voters are requested to vote at their respective polling stations without any fear.
