ED Raid in Jharkhand and West Bengal: Taking action against the coal mafia, the Enforcement Directorate has raided 40 locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal. Officials said that the Enforcement Directorate on Friday conducted a major search operation against the coal mafia in Jharkhand and West Bengal as part of money laundering investigation. In the raid that started around 6 am, raids were conducted at more than 40 places, in which about 100 officers and staff of the Federal Investigation Agency were involved.

Jewelery and cash seized

Central Security Force teams provided security to the ED teams, who apart from toll collection booths and check posts, also searched houses and offices. Officials said that this action is being taken under the rules of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). ED today seized gold jewelery and cash from Jharkhand during a coordinated money laundering search at 40 places in West Bengal and Jharkhand against the coal mafia. Many bundles of Rs 500 each are visible in the pictures.

Raids at 18 places in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, the agency is conducting raids at about 18 places as part of the investigation related to coal theft and smuggling. According to sources, raids are being conducted at the locations of companies named Anil Goyal, Sanjay Udyog, LB Singh and Amar Mandal. Officials said that overall this case involves huge coal theft, which has caused huge financial loss to the government of hundreds of crores of rupees. Even before this, she had come many times for ED raids, but on the way, a large number of people used to come to harass her. This time ED carried out the raid after complete planning.

Raid at 24 locations in Kolkata

In West Bengal, around 24 locations in Durgapur, Purulia, Howrah and Kolkata districts are being covered as part of the investigation into alleged illegal mining, transportation and storage of coal, officials said. Officials said that those whose places are being raided include Narendra Kharka, Yudhishthir Ghosh, Krishna Murari Kayal, Chinmayi Mandal, Rajkoshor Yadav and others.
