BJP Leader: Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar was unanimously elected Speaker of Bihar Assembly on Tuesday. President Kumar said that the election of the Vice President will be held on December 4.
BJP Leader: Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar was unanimously elected Speaker of Bihar Assembly on Tuesday. Protem Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav told the House that Prem Kumar was the only candidate whose name had come for the post. After this, he was declared unanimously elected by voice vote. Prem Kumar has won the Gaya Town seat for a record ninth time in the recently held assembly elections. After being elected president, Prem Kumar was taken to the seat by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav. All the members including the Chief Minister stood up and congratulated the newly elected Speaker. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in his speech said that the Speaker represents a seat where pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Vishnu and Lord Buddha are located.

The RJD leader said that you know very well that the opposition is a mirror for the government, which cannot see its own shortcomings. Therefore, we expect you to involve us more than the ruling party. Chairman Prem Kumar thanked all the members for reposing their trust in him and said that he expects cooperation from them. Before adjourning the proceedings for the day, he stressed that the election of the Deputy Speaker is necessary for the smooth functioning of the House. Speaker Prem Kumar said that the election of the Deputy Speaker will be held on December 4. Before the election of the Speaker, the swearing-in ceremony of those members was held in the House, who could not take oath on the first day of the session on Monday. These members also included Bhojpuri singer-turned-politician Vinay Bihari, who has been BJP MLA from Lauria several times.
CM Nitish Kumar congratulated
Vinay Bihari said that he should be allowed to read the affidavit in his mother tongue. However, when the Protem Speaker said that it could be read only in Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit or Maithili, he agreed. Tuesday was the second day of Bihar Assembly session. Prem Kumar took charge of the post of president. He filed his nomination on Monday. Apart from him, no one else filed nomination, hence Prem Kumar was elected speaker unopposed. Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Sinha, Sanjay Saraogi and Shravan Kumar became the proposers in his election. CM Nitish Kumar, both the Deputy CMs, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and all the MLAs congratulated Prem Kumar on becoming the Speaker.
