Messi Event Chaos: After the chaos in Salt Lake Stadium of West Bengal, West Bengal is in action mode and has also constituted an investigation committee for this. Now the committee has reached the spot to know the ground reality.

Messi Event Chaos : A committee formed after the irregularities in the Salt Lake Stadium of Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi investigated. The investigation committee reached the ground on Sunday and took stock. Officials said the three-member team, during an on-ground inspection of the stadium, one of India’s largest football grounds, found broken plastic chairs, bent metal barricades and a shattered gallery. Officials further said that the committee members, led by retired Calcutta High Court judge Justice Asim Kumar Ray, began their inspection from where Messi had entered the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Playground.

Officials said that this panel also included Chief Secretary Manoj Pant and Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, who also inspected the entry corridor, security arrangements and the surrounding gallery during the event on December 13. An official said cleaning and repair work had been stopped to assess the damage and reconstruct the scene. Apart from this, at the time of the incident, policemen were guarding some parts of the venue as the panel was examining the security arrangements and crowd movement patterns. He said the officials accompanying the committee members conducted videography and photography throughout the inspection to collect evidence of the extent of the vandalism.

The system gradually turned into violence

Let us tell you that a great football match was going to be held in the stadium on Saturday, but the situation turned into violence and chaos on a large scale. The fans were very angry when they did not get to see a glimpse of Messi. People came from long distances to see Messi and even bought very expensive tickets and even then they could not see the star footballer. Angered by this, the fans destroyed the entire arrangement there. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has formed a committee tasked with fixing responsibility for these shortcomings and suggesting corrective steps to prevent such incidents from happening again at high profile events. An FIR has now been registered for this and the police have arrested the main organizer on charges of mismanagement and public disorder.
