Naxalite Hidma Killed in Encounter: Security forces have achieved great success on the border of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. In an encounter with Naxalites, security forces have killed Naxalite commander Hidma, who had a reward of Rs 1 crore. A total of six Naxalites including Hidma have been killed, which also includes his wife. A police officer said that six Maoists were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Alluri Seetharamaraju district on Tuesday, in which Naxalite commander Hidma, carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, was also killed.

Alluri Seetharamaraju district Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Baradar said that six Naxalites, including Hidma and his wife, were killed in the encounter that took place between 6.30 am and 7 am in the forest area of Maredumilli mandal. According to the SP, it was a joint operation conducted by various branches of the police department. Hidma’s killing is a big blow to Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. The killed Naxalites include Madvi Hidma of South Bastar battalion, his wife Raje, Lakmal, Kamlu, Malla and Deve (Hidma’s guard). Security forces have recovered two AK-47s, a revolver and a pistol from the slain Naxalites.
Who was Hidma?
Madvi Hidma was born in Sukma in 1981. He was the commander of a battalion of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army. Hidma had joined the Maoist organization at a very young age. Hidma was the mastermind in the Darbha Valley massacre in Chhattisgarh in 2013. Many senior Congress leaders were killed in this massacre. After this, he also played a major role in the attack on CRPF in Sukma in 2017. 25 soldiers were martyred in this attack. Hidma carried out a total of 25-26 Naxalite attacks. This is why only the Center had placed a reward of Rs 50 lakh on him.
Mother had appealed for surrender
A total reward of Rs 1 crore was announced on Hidma’s head by the Center and the State. Recently, Hidma’s mother had made an emotional appeal to her son to surrender, but he did not listen to her mother and was killed. The elimination of Hidma is a big blow to break the back of Naxalism. Let us tell you, at this time many Naxalites are surrendering and returning to the mainstream.
